20/21 Months

20 Months
Our month has been busy with adjustments/colds/new words/learning hand motions to songs/ just becoming her own little person.

Our big highlights this Month was moving to the table and no longer sitting in her highchair!  She has adjusted well and its nice to no longer have to clean off the massive tray.  Surprisingly she has done really well and no major messes on the floor like I thought.. but then again we do have GA, who is super quick to pick up anything that gets dropped.

I wouldn't say her vocabulary has really picked up anymore than the last month, but she has learned the word "CHEESE"  haha and she knows that you say "Cheese" when you take a picture and "Cheese" for an actual piece of Cheese!  Such a smart little cookie.  She even will say Cheese when you take her picture! lol! She has picked up a favorite song and even learned the hand motions to "If your happy and you know it Clap/Pat your knee/Stomp your feet/Beep your nose/Shout Hooray"  Its is super cute to watch and listen, she LOVES the song and gets soo excited when it comes on.  She received some dvds from my parents, "Cedarmount Kids"  its children singing all the classic Bible school songs that I  grew up singing!  She loves these dvds, trying to sing and do the hand motions with them.  They are a little old school, but she doesnt know that and Its been a BIG highlight!  Another word she has somehow learned is "MINE"... I would have to say, I'm not super thrilled about this word, as I now constantly say to her PLEASE.. Not really sure where/how she learned this word, but she knows what it means and it always seems to come out when she wants something she shouldn't have!!

She has turned into our little helper.. She loves to help me set the table.. we are working on putting the silverware on the right side of the table.. She will bring you just about anything you ask her.  She loves to get her own shoes and hat when its time to go... calling for them..shoes..shoes.. Even when you are getting ready to go, she thinks its time to go and she will go get her shoes and hat..She has even mastered putting her own hat on.  Has not mastered putting on her shoes yet!

She is still adjusting to daycare.  I decided to pick up a 4th day of work until June.  One, to help us bring in some extra money, but 2 to help my department out.  I think it has been a hard adjustment on both of us.  She  still clings or cries most AMs that I drop her off, which makes leaving really challenging.. but I am hopeful picking up a 4th day will help her adjust.

Our biggest challenge this month, besides, never ending colds and adjusting to daycare.  Addison has started to really fight me for naps.  I am not sure where this stems from, but it was like she woke up one day and decided that napping was going to be a fight.  It has been an all out war to get her to calm down and go to sleep. She will throw everything out of bed, including her paci, scream.. piercing screams at the top of her lungs.. all in all it is very draining and tiring! I even tried to hold out one day and held out for almost 45mins, before I caved and went in and dealt with the issue.  I am hopeful that this is just a phase and we will work through this.   To top it off she has been fighting bedtime as well.  This actually started last month, I was confident that this was a phase as well, but it has continued into this month.  Some nights, she is hitting 830/845 before passing out. Luckily night time, she just babbles until she passes out, no war which is nice.

I would have to say this past month flew by and I cant believe we are already in March.  Praying for warm weather to come our way, so we can get these colds behind us.

21 Months

Well.. we entered the month with another cold and miserable coughing and I was done, so we headed off to the Pediatricians once again to get to the bottom of it.  Low and behold, our little Miss Addison has Allergies.  They are not sure what kind, but they are moderate and they believe its dust from the house being closed off and that's why this "Cold" wont fully go away.  So finally an answer to our never ending cold battle.  Only took 3 plus months and a visit to the Pediatrician at least every 2 weeks for them to finally realize that this was Allergies!  She has been put on Clairton and it has helped, she still has coughing on and off and her nose runs occasionally, but it has calmed it down and made it manageable for her.  I will be conducting a major Spring Cleaning in her room.. so hopefully that will help!  Soo thats our BIG news... Addison has allergies!

She has turned into a little babbler, always talking to us, like we understand her, pointing at things, which do help somewhat in trying to figure out what she is trying to say.  She has learned the word "Cookie"..haha.. a SWEET!  Sometimes it sounds like she is saying "Whats this?"  But, its so hard to tell!  She will now say Choo Choo when she hears the train, she will even look for the train if we are outside. Its super cute, but she thinks that Trucks as Trains..they tend to make a loud noise and she compares the 2 as one!!  LOL! She can say Moo, for a cow and can point out out the animals in books, when you say - "Where is the Cow" ect. She also says Beep Beep! I always say.. Beep Beep when I am trying to get by her and now she will say it!! She knows where her belly button is and she is working on Head and shoulders knees and toes... She has all of it down, but the shoulders...lol.. goes straight to the knees!! All in all she is definitely trying to talk to us.  She does fully understands everything you say to her and she picks up super quickly!   She is even trying to master winking!!  Super cute!!

She is still doing the hand motions to "If your happy and you know it clap your Hands" and she recently learned that when you sing patty cake to "Mark it"..lol!  She will use one finger to tap her palm or your palm!!  She is mastering setting the table, even placing silverware on each side of the table rather than on both sides...lol! She just LOVES to help!! Still says No, when she clearly means yes, however on occassion she will say Ummm.... So, when you ask her a question... you either get, No or Umm...lol!!  Never YES!!  She has all of a sudden started to love to count.. She counts everything!!  The only thing is, she gets stuck on two.  So you go, one, two and she says two, two, two!  Its soo cute!  She recently discovered how to open and close doors.  Not sure how I feel about this, but she can reach and open and close them... sometimes its definitly a game in her mind!!  She is a climber for sure, FEARLESS... she will now climbe up the front of the slide to the top without help, evening attempting the climbing wall.. very nerve wracking for sure!!  At least she is using up a lot of energy!! lol!!

She is doing better with daycare, some days are still rough, but she seems to be adjusting a lot better! It is probably Mom here who has the hardest time with the 4 days.  I really miss her and feel like I never see her..lol!  At least there is an end in sight!  June cant come any faster!!  I do relish in the sound of shoes, shoes, shoes, when I come to get her.. she knows right away to get her shoes on, almost throwing a fit if we don't get them on fast enough

Napping has gotten better, YES, we have our days, ALOT of days! But we bought a little Light/Music bug and that seems to help.  She has started to wake early,  I would say most mornings are 6:45/6:50 and then every couple of days, I get a 730, which I will take, I have to say this has helped with naptime, bc she is tired when it rolls around. (Luckily I almost always always get 730 on the wknds.. :) ) Half way through the month I decided to move Bedtime to 740 to help with all her jabbering, but it still seems to be almost 815 before she passes out, but at least its not 830, like it was.

She is still doing good eating at the dining room table, the only issue that we have is, she wants to put her feet up on the table or she uses her feet to push against the table and push herself away from the table.  I think we spend all dinner saying, put your feet down.... definitely can be very draining!

She is just full of energy and life, exploring everything around her, testing all her boundaries, but sweet special moments that I will hold onto forever.... Clinging to all the extra snuggles and little conversations (babbling) she has with us...realizing that in just a few more months our little girl will be 2!!
